Roller Dye Tool For an easy and even application of edge paints onto your leather edges. The tool, machined from an aluminum block and extremely robust, is an ideal aid in edge painting and for very long workpieces, e.g. Belts. Use: Edge paint is filled into the aluminum bowl until the roller has contact with it and its surface is covered with paint when used. The application of paint can be precisely dosed with the help of the plastic wiper. (The closer the scraper sits, the less the amount of paint to be applied.) Now let the leather edge roll over the solid roller and the paint will stick to the edge as desired. Accidental painting of the surface can thus be greatly reduced. GIARDINI - MAXEDGE™ Pro Metal Edge Paint Edge sealing / edge varnish Our MAXEDGE™ Pro edge paints are available in 2 metallic colours. These can be mixed as desired in many different colours (see colour chart). All colours appear after applying to the leather in the colour that is already represented in its liquid stage. MAXEDGE™ Pro Metal Edge Paints dry with a satin matt finish and cover the leather edge with a rubbery, hard to peel paint application that is soft and pliable. Info: MAXEDGE™ Pro Protecting Gloss can be used for final fixation. This creates a shiny edge. Excellent features: VOC reduced (volatile organic compounds) waterproof when dried very abrasion, cut and scratch resistant rubbery paint application non-fading very pliable (colour does not break during movement) soft edge when dried out (no rough, protruding leather fibres that reduce the feeling of a pleasant edge) subsequent polishing is not necessary Consistency: viscous Important!: Only use the edge paints for leather edges. Edge paints are not suitable for colouring the grain or flesh side of leather. Please always test on a sample first before dyeing on the actual workpiece. This way unpleasant results can be avoided in advance. If you want to add water to dilute, always use distilled water. Do not leave the bottle standing opened for too long. Store the product at the same temperature as possible. Use within 6 months after opening. Application: Prepare the leather edge for dyeing by sanding it with a fine grit sandpaper and / or burnishing the edge. Stir the edge paint thoroughly. Please do not shake, as otherwise bubbles form which dissolve only very slowly. Apply the edge paint to the leather edge with a brush, wool dauber or our edge roller. Please make sure that any edge colour on the surface is wiped off immediately with a damp cloth, to avoid uneven edges and staining. For a denser paint application apply another coat of edge paint to your work piece. Wait approx. 20 min. (Our MAXEDGE™ Pro Metal Edge Paints dry a bit slower than other manufacturers' products, so you have plenty of time to paint even long edges without the need to rush.) After about an hour, the edge paint is dry and adheres firmly to the edge. A subsequent polishing is no longer necessary. MAXEDGE™ Pro Protecting Gloss dries shiny and covers the already dyed/painted leather edge with a rubber like, hard to remove paint application that is still soft and flexible.Attention! Wait for about 40 minutes until the MAXEDGE™ Pro Protecting Gloss has dried. After about an hour, the edge paint has completely dried and adheres firmly to the edge.
