Seine ersten Erfahrungen mit dem Naturprodukt Leder machte er in Australien und entschied sich für die künstlerische Gestaltung dieses aussergewöhnlich vielseitigen Materials.Seine handwerkliche Ausbildung war rein autodidaktisch.
